Rooftop tents are nothing new, they've been around since the 40's. But rooftop tents are used for different reasons in different parts of the world.

In Africa, they sleep on roofs to protect themselves from predators, and in Australia, they sleep in rooftop tents to protect themselves from spiders and snakes.

We usually joke that we sleep in rooftop tents in Sweden to protect ourselves from ants and hard cones.
